Multiple award-winning music producer Simon Shackleton follows up his recent release on Anjunadeep (‘Traumstaat’) with OPLOT a compelling and intriguing piece of cinematic and emotive electronica.

‘Oplot’, the name of a Ukrainian tank, is a collaboration with the Canadian outfit Objekt22 who approached Simon with a track containing several evocative samples from a Ukrainian operatic recording. He was instantly drawn to the emotive tone of the samples and set about creating his own cinematic interpretation of the source material, building the string parts and melodic content from the ground up.

The result is a brooding and deeply evocative piece of broken beat electronica. ‘Oplot’ is part of a series which explores the transitional period between sleeping and waking, where the vivid lucidity of dreams quickly evaporates into the cold reality of day.

‘Oplot’ is dedicated to the courage, determination, bravery and fortitude of the Ukrainian people.
